There will be two days of racing action plus the younger fans will be in the spotlight on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

The weekend will see two shows beginning on Friday, August 1 featuring the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Xcel 600 Modifieds starting at 7 pm.

On Friday night pit gates open at 2 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm. Grandstand admission will be $10, with children ages 12 and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $35 for the Friday event.

Then on Saturday Grandview Speedway will be presenting a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman along with a Money Scramble for kids starting at 7:30 pm

The show on Saturday, August 2 will include qualifying events for both divisions that will lead into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

Next Saturday, August 9 is the highlite of the summer schedule with the 55th annual Forrest Rogers Memorial 50-lap Championship race for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds paying $10,000 to win honoring the gentleman who built Grandview Speedway. The show also includes the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman and another Trivia Night contest starting at 7:30 pm.

The Forrest Rogers Memorial begins the stretch run for the drivers and the chase for the track championship, along with the opportunity for the T.P. Trailer Modified drivers to attempt the Grandview Triple Crown, winning the Forrest Rogers Memorial – Track Point Championship – Freedom 76 all in one season!

This past Saturday night Jeff Strunk picked up the T.P. Trailer Modified feature win, scoring his overall 91st career 358 Modified Grandview Speedway win, becoming the first driver to win more than once this season, after going nine straight races with nine different winners.

Brett Kressley had a solid night this past week scoring a sixth place feature run to regain the point lead in the T.P. Trailer Modified division, while Mike Gular, who had been the point leader entering the evening, was involved in an early race mishap and got knocked out of action dropping him to fourth in the point standings.

Duane Howard finished the night with an eighth place run after starting in 20th spot and now sits second in points, while Jared Umbenhauer scored a hard fought fourth place feature finish to sit third in points, with Louden Reimert scoring a solid third place feature run to maintain the fifth position in the points race.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division added another first time career winner this past Saturday night with Shannon Slaughter picking up the feature win. Not only was it her first career feature win, but she made Grandview Speedway track history becoming the first female driver to score a win!

Colin Cox made a late race challenge for the win along with Addison Meitzler, but ended the night in third position to remain on top in the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman point standings holding a commanding 530 point lead.

The rest of the drivers in the top five in points all had a difficult night, as Mike Schneck Jr. did not score a top ten finish after a pit stop for a flat tire, but still holds down the number two spot in the point parade, while Kenny Gilmore had mechanical issues and never made the track for competition, still sitting third in points.

Dylan Swinehart also did not score a top ten run but still sits fourth in the point standings, while Jesse Landis used a provisional start and climbed to a 14th place effort to maintain his fifth spot in the current point standings.
