If you thought we left the mermaidcore trend behind in 2023, KATSEYE is here to change your mind with a very glam take, styled by Katie Qian.

On January 29, 2026, the members of KATSEYE attended Spotify’s 2026 Best New Artist party in West Hollywood, wearing coordinating looks that turned the sea siren-inspired trend on its head. Megan, Daniela, Manon, Lara, Sophia, and Yoonchae arrived at the event, each donning a unique ‘fit dripped in crystals and embroidery.

Sticking to silver, pink, and green hues, the members of KATSEYE turned heads with their outfits. Megan wore a shell-pink mini dress with delicate silver and crystal beadings on the chest and skirt, featuring a cutout on the lower stomach and a soft, long train cascading behind her. Daniela opted for a midriff-baring two-piece, comprised of a shimmering silver sheer fishnet maxi skirt with crystal floral inserts and a bra top, which she complemented with a hanging cross necklace and a tick crystal choker.

Manon adopted an Old Hollywood approach, wearing a fringed nude dress with intricate beading, cascading into an ombré pink-and-purple scalloped skirt that made her look as if she were dripping in jewels. Lara broke the pinkish palette with a form-fitting, olive-green sheer dress featuring leafy and mossy embellishments for a daring edge that complemented the dress’s plunging neckline.

Sophia, on the other hand, opted for a flowy, dusty pink gown with a floral appliqué detail on the left shoulder and a cascading, crisscrossed side slit adorned with ombré, scale-like beading that extended to the top side of her bodice, matching the pearly white drop-shaped diamond necklace on her chest.

Last but not least, Yoonchae merged the pink and green hues in her strapless, subtly ombré, floor-length gown, which was covered in crystals and featured an almost-iridescent toile, giving off a corset illusion with clashing vertical beading on the bodice. Megan, Daniela, Manon, and Lara completed their looks with shiny Rene Caovilla heels.

Beauty-wise, the members emphasized the mermaid aesthetic, most wearing ample pink blush on their cheeks and eyes, complemented by glossy, plump lip colors. Lara took it to the next level with a wet-look hairdo. Manon opted for voluminous Hollywood curls. Sophia and Daniela favored wavy blowouts, the latter accompanied by braided face-framing tendrils; while Megan and Yoonchae embraced long straight hair, the former adding pink highlights to match her dress and eyeshadow.

Later in the evening, the members changed into coordinating black lace looks for their performance, leaning heavily on trompe-l’oeil detailing and daring cutouts. Also styled by Katie Qian, the looks were custom-made by Dion Lee’s HÆLO brand.

Since their debut in 2024, KATSEYE have made a name for themselves with their catchy songs and daring styles, mostly tailored by their creative director, Humberto Leon. Their time at the Spotify Best New Artist 2026 party proves the sextet is not changing up their M.O. anytime soon. If anything, they just keep getting bolder—so watch out for them as they take over international festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Governors Ball later this year.
