Ruben Amorim and Manchester United believe that one of Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona teammates has the ‘ideal profile’ for the manager, according to stunning reports.
Marcus Rashford signed for Barcelona this summer after the England international was frozen out of the Manchester United first-team squad under Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old United star was unveiled as a Barcelona player at the Camp Nou last week, with the La Liga club landing Rashford as part of a 12-month loan deal.
Barcelona had been linked with Rashford and the Spanish side stepped up their transfer pursuit after Nico Williams inked a new long-term deal with Athletic Club.
The La Liga outfit is covering the majority of Rashford’s United wages and the United star took a pay cut to ensure his move to the Camp Nou happened.
Barcelona have the option to make the move permanent for a £30.3m fee in 2026 and Rashford already made his Barcelona debut against Vissel Kobe on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford now shares the same Barcelona dressing room as Marc Casado and the 21-year-old Spanish defensive midfielder is linked with Manchester United again.
Nacional now reports that Marc Casado has been viewed as an ‘ideal long-term alternative’ for Manuel Ugarte, whose future remains unclear under Ruben Amorim.
The Spanish newspaper claims that the 40-year-old United manager now sees Barcelona midfielder Casado as an ‘ideal profile for his style of play’ at Old Trafford.
It is believed that United are ‘evaluating‘ the prospect of ‘presenting a formal offer in August,’ despite Barcelona’s current position being that they would ‘prefer to retain’ the player.
According to Nacional, Barcelona’s ‘position is firm’ over United-linked Casado and the La Liga club have ‘not contemplated’ a sale of the Spain star in the ‘short term.’

The outlet added that Marc Casado has ‘no intention of leaving’ on his own accord and wants to fight for his place in the Barcelona squad under manager Hansi Flick.
Casado rose through the ranks of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and the Spain midfielder is currently under contract at the Camp Nou until 2028.
It is believed that the Spain international has a hefty €100m release clause in his deal with Barcelona, but United hope to sign Casado for a lower transfer fee.
It is believed that the Red Devils would put up a £34.8m (€40m) bid and United hope to ‘squeeze’ the signing amid Barcelona’s firm stance on the player.
Casado is continuing to work with ‘humility and ambition’ amid United’s interest and the midfielder knows this season could mark his ‘definitive leap to the elite.’
