DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WALA) – Dauphin Island Mayor Jeff Collier confirms there is an island-ide power outage on Dauphin Island.
He says a power line is down over the water near Dauphin Island bridge and this will probably be an extended outage
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab posted on its Facebook page that due to the Island wide power outage the Alabama Aquarium will be closed Sunday.
Also, Mayor Collier posted on his Facebook page, the Dauphin island Sea Lab has opened Shelby Hall as a warming station for people on the island. No pets, smoking, or alcohol allowed and no admittance to labs.
Collier posts, in addition, Islanders Restaurant has opened its doors as a warming station and will be open for business at the usual time.
