The team is perhaps planning to launch a streaming platform similar to the likes of Amazon or Apple, which has direct-to-distributor deals, per a new report.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves are preparing to launch a new era in its baseball broadcasts across Braves Country.

The Braves announced the developments following reports they were involved in discussions with Main Street Sports Group in creating its own network to broadcast all of its baseball games.

In a statement, the organization said it is “aware of the reports” and, while “disappointed” by the development, the team has been planning for the possibility and is moving forward with a new broadcast approach.

According to a report from Sports Business Journal, the team is perhaps planning to launch a streaming platform similar to the likes of Amazon or Apple, which has direct-to-distributor deals with cable and satellite providers.

“Throughout Braves Country and beyond, we have one of the largest and most dedicated fan bases in sports, as well as one of the most expansive television territories, and we are excited about bringing Braves baseball to our fans in new ways,” the team said.

It was just last month that nine Major League Baseball teams terminated their deals with the FanDuel Sports Network to carry their local broadcasts. Main Street Sports Group, which operates the FanDuel networks, did not make its December payment to the St. Louis Cardinals. It also carries games of Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Kansas City, the Los Angeles Angels, Miami, Milwaukee and Tampa Bay, along with 13 teams in the NBA and seven in the NHL.

The Braves wanted to reassure viewers that coverage will not be interrupted when the season begins.

“To our fans, we want to assure you that we will be ready for the 2026 season, and all Atlanta Braves games will be broadcast across the entirety of Braves Country,” the statement said. “We look forward to sharing our path forward in the coming weeks.”

The team did not release additional details about what the new broadcast model will look like or how games will be distributed, saying more information will be shared soon.
