Routine Message: New! WhatsApp Channel for American Citizens Services, January 29, 2026
U.S. citizens in Italy, Vatican City, and San Marino can now receive alerts and relevant information via WhatsApp from the American Citizens Services (ACS) section of the U.S. Mission to Italy. Follow the Italy ACS WhatsApp channel to receive periodic updates.  Use of this channel is optional and will complement the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) where alerts are sent by email.
Actions to Take:
Use this link to follow the U.S. Citizens in Italy WhatsApp Channel. If you do not have WhatsApp, you will need to first install it on your device.
You will not be able to reply to WhatsApp messages in the channel. It is not possible to post comments in the WhatsApp channel, although you can react with emojis.
You can stop following the channel at any time.
