SMITHFIELD — Johnston Health Foundation has appointed six new members to its board of directors, strengthening the foundation’s leadership and its commitment to advancing health care and wellness across Johnston County.
The new board members are: Teresa Bau, physician, UNC Health Family Medicine; Felita Carr, dean of retention and student support, Johnston Community College; Kelly Daughtry, attorney, Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence & Starling; Megan Kirk, MD, director of emergency services, UNC Health Johnston; Morgan O’Meara, senior vice president, District 19, State Employees’ Credit Union; Melissa Overton, owner of MedicalTraining.me and The Overton Experience.
All bring a strong combination of professional expertise, community leadership, and dedication to UNC Health Johnston’s mission of improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
“We are thrilled to welcome these outstanding leaders to our board of directors,” said Allison Strickland, director of Johnston Health Foundation. “Their experience, passion for service, and commitment to health care will be invaluable as we continue to support critical programs, innovative initiatives, and patient-centered care throughout Johnston County.”
In addition, the foundation is welcoming a new slate of officers. Jason Wenzel, attorney with Narron Wenzel, P.A., is chair; Brent George, senior vice president and commercial relationship manager with United Community, is vice chair; John Scovil, certified public accountant, is treasurer; and Iris Green, director of constituent services with Disability Rights North Carolina, is secretary.
Johnston Health Foundation supports UNC Health Johnston through philanthropic partnerships that fund essential programs, advanced medical technology, and community health initiatives. The addition of these six board members reflects the foundation’s continued growth and emphasis on strong governance and meaningful community representation.
