William Saliba is firmly on his way to being one of the greatest Arsenal defenders of all-time.
The Frenchman’s form over the last few seasons has been nothing short of sensational and it feels bizarre to look back now and imagine a time when Arsenal very nearly gave up on him.
A loan spell with Marseille really seemed to make him and ever since, his partnership with Gabriel has been magnificent.

Of course, Saliba will need to win trophies to be truly considered one of the best.
But until that happens, Saliba himself has offered fans an insight into just what his favourite moment being an Arsenal player has been so far.
William Saliba’s favourite Arsenal memory revealed
Like many Arsenal fans and players, Saliba will be hoping his actual best moment in an Arsenal shirt is still to come.
A Premier League title feels within touching distance for the Gunners right now and if Man City drop more points at Liverpool tomorrow, it will feel even closer.

Still, that is all in the future and answering questions on Reddit from fans, Saliba admitted his actual favourite moment so far came back in 2022.
“I always said that it didn’t happen yet, but if I have to say one…my first Premier League game against Palace in 2022,” Saliba replied.
What happened on William Saliba’s league debut for Arsenal
As far as debuts in the Premier League go, William Saliba’s was as close to perfection as you can get.
Arsenal won 2-0 away at Crystal Palace to kick-off the 2022/23 campaign and in this one game, Saliba showed just why Arsenal had spent £27m on him as a youngster.

Saliba put in what some in the media labelled a ‘faultless’ display and crucially, he helped his team to a clean-sheet.
Since then, it’s been nothing but forward momentum for Saliba. He’s gone from strength to strength and once he adds the trophies to his CV, he will truly go down as an Arsenal great.
