COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Aviators have added quarterback Aidan Sayin to their roster, giving the city a familiar name under center.

Aidan is the older brother of Julian Sayin, Ohio State football’s starting quarterback.

Like his brother, Aidan is a California native who attended Carlsbad High School. As an unrated prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, he signed with the University of Pennsylvania.

Aidan spent four seasons with the Quakers, throwing for 7,177 yards, 45 touchdowns and 31 interceptions. He completed 62% of his passes across 31 career games played.

The Aviators are entering their first season as a team in the United Football League. They are led by coach Ted Ginn Jr. — a former wide receiver at Ohio State (2004–2006).

Julian is entering his third season at Ohio State. After sitting behind Will Howard during the 2024 season, he stepped into a starting role last year.

Julian helped lead the Buckeyes back to the College Football Playoff. The Heisman finalist threw for 3,610 yards and 32 touchdowns.
