We are just days away from the release of Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown. Earlier this week we reported that both Tim Russ and Robert Duncan McNeill are reprising their roles as Tuvok and Paris in thevideo game, and now you can see (and hear) Robbie back in action for yourself today, thanks to an updated demo.

Tom highlights game’s “what if” premise

Developer gamExcite has celebrated the addition of Robert Duncan McNeill as Paris in a new video that’s full of fun tidbits. Both McNeill as Paris and Tim Russ as Tuvok will offer up personal logs at the start of each of Across the Unknown‘s 12 sectors, recapping what’s already happened in Voyager’s journey back home, and setting the stage for what’s come.

The new video blow is extremely cheeky, referencing “what if” moments and choices the player can make, such as  permanent split of B’Elanna Torres into human and Klingon halves from the Voyager episode “Faces.”

“Half of Voyager needs to be repaired,” Paris laments at one point in the video. “Luckily, we have the two B’Elannas working hand in hand.”

Paris also details a Voyager that retained Seska on its crew, but at great cost. “It was Seska, of all people, who facilitated our access,” Paris says later on. “She’s certainly good at sabotaging things. If only Chakotay hadn’t left because of her.”

This video shows how the game lets you decide how the USS Voyager will get home. You chose to forgive or shun Seska, whether or not to reintegrate the B’Elannas, and deal with Tuvix however you’d like.

Updated demo features Paris and Voyager theme

An updated demo on Windows PC via Steam has added McNeill’s performance as part of the game’s first sector. “The update includes further fine-tuning based on the console demo, as well as the first voice-over content added to the demo mission,” gamExcite and publisher Daedalic Entertainment said in an update.

Tim Russ as Tuvok doesn’t feature in the demo for highly logical reasons, as “from a narrative standpoint, Tuvok is not yet part of this early mission and will be featured in later sections of the full game.”

Our gameplay video below shows how the demo starts and includes a log from Tom Paris. You’ll also hear in the opening of the demo, Jerry Goldsmith’s iconic Star Trek: Voyager main theme, which also features in-game.

The addition of Robert Duncan McNeill as Paris only appears within the Windows PC via Steam version of the demo, available here. The voices of McNeill and Russ as well as the Voyager theme will be part of the official release on all platforms, but as of now the only the PC/Steam demo has been updated to reflect that.

You can  play slightly older versions of the demo on Xbox Series S & X via Microsoft Store, PS5 via PlayStation Store, and Switch 2 via the Nintendo eShop ahead of next week’s full game launch.

Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown is planned for a February 18 release date across Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2. For more about the game, visit stvatu.com.
