CHARLOTTE — Sunday’s Charlotte Checkers game has been postponed to Monday due to unsafe playing conditions, the team says.

The Checkers were set to play the Hartford Wolf Pack at 4 p.m., but roof leaks at Bojangles Coliseum led to the change.

The source of the leak is still not known.

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, which oversees the Bojangles Coliseum, sent the following statement to Channel 9:

“Arena operations and engineering teams immediately began evaluating the affected area and are actively addressing the issue. The specific source remains under review.

Our priority is supporting the Checkers and preparing the facility for upcoming events. The safety of players, staff and guests is always our top priority. We appreciate the patience of fans and partners and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Coliseum soon.”

The game will now be played on Monday, February 16th. The team says all tickets for Sunday’s game will be good for tomorrow.
