LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ (AZFamily) — Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park is welcoming an endangered baby pygmy hippopotamus to the West Valley.
The 2-week-old hippo, which has not yet been named, is spending her first days exploring the waters of the pygmy hippo habitat with her mother.
Name choices for the new baby pygmy hippo include Cadbury, Twixi, Jellybean and Taffy.(Wildlife World Zoo)
Wildlife World is launching a public naming contest. Guests who visit the zoo can vote at the exhibit for one of four choices: Cadbury, Twixi, Jellybean or Taffy.
The winning name will be announced once voting closes.
“This rare and important birth marks another milestone for the zoo’s ongoing commitment to conservation and the care of threatened species,” the zoo said in a social media post.
