Tyra Banks just sheepishly recalled the absolutely mortifying time that she had a “whole pile” of Victoria’s Secret items that she thought she would get for free, only for her “Angel Card” to be rejected in-store.

For reference, the 51-year-old star was a Victoria’s Secret Angel between 1997 and 2005, and during this time, she was gifted an Angel Card that she was told would get her free products in all Victoria’s Secret stores “forever.”

Opening up about the card during a recent appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, Tyra explained: “I had a free Angel Card that the head of Victoria’s Secret gave me. They were like: ‘Forever. We love you so much, you have this card and you can go to any shop forever, and shop forever with no cap on it.’”

“So I would get lingerie for myself, matching tops and bottoms, every collection that came out, I got it,” she went on.

“And then, a few years later, they put a contract on the table and said: ‘Let’s sign three more years!’” Tyra continued. “And I was like: ‘I don’t want to, I want to be a talk show host, I’m not going to do it.’ And they let me have that Angel Card for a year, and then they said: ‘Give it back, baby!’”
Host Jenna Bush Hager then asked the star: “Did you actually go to Victoria’s Secret and they were like: ‘Sorry, this card is no longer accepted here’?” and Tyra was visibly embarrassed as she admitted that is exactly what happened.
“I hate saying this on national TV!” Tyra exclaimed, with Jenna gently asking: “Did you have a whole pile of stuff?!”

“Yes, Jenna!” Tyra reluctantly confessed. “It was in a suburb store in Los Angeles off the freeway, I can’t remember the name of the mall. But oh my gosh, guess what happened, Jenna? I don’t match anymore — my lingerie is crazy!”
Jenna later asked Tyra if she would ever return to Victoria’s Secret, and Tyra was quick to quip: “I would do a deal if you gave me my card back, let’s start there. That’s the most important thing — I want my card, and then I have to represent the brand.”

As you may recall, Tyra did return to the Victoria’s Secret runway last October, where she closed the brand’s iconic New York City fashion show. However, that was evidently not enough to regain access to the prestigious card.
