With the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge system beginning this season, teams will begin the process of adjusting to it this spring. For the Braves, that started today.

Mark Bowman has an article, including some quotes from Drake Baldwin among others, on how it will force players to adjust their perception of the strike zone based on a player’s height.

With each team only allotted two challenges during a nine inning game (won challenges will retain the challenge; extra innings will add challenges), it will be critical for a pitcher, catcher or batter to know when to make the correct challenge.
