The ATP Rio 2026 is heating up for an unexpected finish. Only one of the top eight seeds has managed to reach the quarters, which means the championship is as unpredictable as ever. We preview and predict all the matches scheduled for you.

ATP Rio Quarterfinal Predictions
Juan Manual Cerundolo vs Vit Kopriva

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Juan Manuel Cerundolo, like his brother, is extremely comfortable on clay and fought hard to come through his second-round match. Vit Kopriva dominated his own second-round encounter, but the Czech may find himself outfoxed in longer baseline exchanges. Expect Cerundolo’s craft and variation to make the difference in a tight three-set battle.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 3

Alejandro Tabilo vs Thiago Agustin Tirante

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Alejandro Tabilo looks like a serious contender with several top seeds already bowing out, and he showed real resilience in digging deep during his second-round match. Thiago Agustin Tirante benefited from an early retirement by Francisco Cerundolo, but Tabilo is unlikely to offer such generosity. Expect the Chilean to battle hard once again and come through with the win.
Prediction: Tabilo in 3

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Jaime Faria

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Jaime Faria has done well to come through qualifying and has yet to drop a set in the main draw, impressing with his composure. He now faces the lone remaining seed, Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The Argentine will certainly be tested, but his superior baseline quality on clay, coupled with a bigger serve, should help him control proceedings and close out the match.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 2

Matteo Berrettini vs Ignacio Buse

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Is Matteo Berrettini finding his form again? A tight three-set win over Dusan Lajovic will certainly boost his confidence. He now faces Ignacio Buse, who impressed by taking out Joao Fonseca in a very entertaining match. Buse won’t be easy to beat, but Berrettini’s greater experience in the latter stages and his bigger weapons off the serve and forehand should see him edge through, even if he’s pushed hard.
Prediction: Berrettini in 3
