APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Those strolling along College Avenue in downtown Appleton on Saturday got to see some amazing ice sculptures.
The Avenue of Ice Carvings event featured 26 handcrafted ice sculptures, with this year’s theme being “What We Love About Wisconsin”.
It features sculptures of Wisconsin favorites, like the classic dairy cow, an Old-Fashioned, and a nod to Packers pride.
Many were set up in front of downtown businesses as a way to bring people together.
“I’m glad they’re doing these like community events. I’ve also just noticed that Appleton has been doing a lot of them recently. Between Mile of Music, Death by Chocolate, and like this, too. Just good things to do on the weekend that just fill up, time for families,” said Matt Mangian of Kimberly.
The ice sculptures will be up as long as the weather allows.
