APPLETON (WLUK) — As we return to more seasonal temperatures, a tradition returns along College Avenue in Appleton.
Ice sculptures can be found along the busy corridor as part of this year’s ‘Avenue of Ice.’
The annual event with Crystak Clear Ice Company, located in the Fox Valley, partners with businesses and sponsors to create intricate ice designs along College Avenue for the community to enjoy for as long as Mother Nature will allow.
Organizers say this year’s theme is ‘Things we love about Wisconsin,’ with 26 sculptures featuring things like the Lombardi Trophy, Harry Houdini, a beer glass and keg, business logos, and much more.
Organizers say theres a total of 26 sculptures this year.
The event was originally planned to kick off on Friday, but due to warm temperatures, the exhibit beganon Saturday instead.
“Events like these are very much encouraged to get people moving up and down the district, checking out the different local businesses we have down there, and everything that downtown has to offer,” says Appleton Downtown’s marketing director, Abby Novak.
