Evil Dead Wrath, the next entry in the long-running Evil Dead franchise, has officially entered production. That information comes straight from Warner Bros., which released a short new teaser that goes heavy on retro vibes, from the traditional Evil Dead font to the ominous horns. Watch it below:

We don’t know much about Evil Dead Wrath save that Francis Galluppi, the man behind the well-reviewed The Last Stop In Yuma Country, will direct it. We can also assume that Evil Dead Wrath will continue the franchise’s recent tradition of serving up standalone installments. The original 1981 Evil Dead movie was about a group of friends who stay at a cabin in the woods only to stumble upon a cursed book called the Necronomicon; before you know it, the dead are coming back to life and everyone’s having a terrible time. After that, the original trilogy focused on one of those friends, Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell). Ash also headlined the TV show Ash vs Evil Dead, which ran for three seasons on Starz in the 2010s.

But the 2013 Evil Dead movie basically retells the story of the 1981 original without Ash, and 2023’s Evil Dead Rising brought in a whole new cast and moved the action from the woods to a suburban tower block. Evil Dead Wrath will star Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford, Josh Helman, Ella Newton, Elizabeth Cullen, and Ella Oliphant, none of whom are in the casts for Evil Dead Rise or the upcoming Evil Dead Burn.

We’re actually getting this teaser for Evil Dead Wrath before we even have a synopsis for Evil Dead Burn, which is due out in theaters on July 24, 2026. Warner Bros. is clearly going all-in on the franchise, which makes sense: Evil Dead Rise took in a healthy $147 million at the worldwide box office on a budget of only $15 million.

These latest Evil Dead movies also give original franchise creator Sam Raimi a chance to give a leg up to up-and-coming genre directors. He’s hand-picked the directors of the last several films, and has chosen very well. The 2013 Evil Dead remake was directed by Fede Álvarez, who went on to direct 2024’s Alien: Romulus. And Evil Dead Rise was directed by Lee Cronin, who is now working on The Mummy. Evil Dead Burn is directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who had a fantastic debut with Infested. Sometime after Burn comes out, it’ll be Francis Galluppi’s turn to show off what he can do with the franchise in Evil Dead Wrath.
