COVINGTON POLICE SAY HE WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES AND TAKEN TO CINCINNATI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. NEWS FIVE’S SEAN MACKINNON JOINS US LIVE. FROM WHERE THAT HAPPENED. SHAWN, JUST AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY HERE. DO WE KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY SUSPECTS? WELL, COVINGTON POLICE LEAVING JUST A COUPLE MINUTES AGO. THEY WERE HERE FOR HOURS. OFFICERS SAY THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A SUSPECT AND DO NOT HAVE ANYONE DETAINED. TELLING US THAT 12 YEAR OLD BOY WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAS LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. WE HEARD TWO LOUD POPS AND A FEMALE ON THE GROUND SCREAMING IN PAIN JUST A FEW HOUSES DOWN. 232 GUNSHOTS IN THE LATONIA NEIGHBORHOOD OF COVINGTON. POLICE TELLING US THAT 12 YEAR OLD BOY SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES HAS LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. A 12 YEAR OLD 12 YEAR OLD IS STILL CRYING. THE SHOOTING HAPPENED JUST BEFORE 5:00 TONIGHT. OUR CAMERAS WERE THERE AFTER THE SHOOTING AS POLICE WERE INVESTIGATING, WHICH GREW INTENSE. OFFICERS WERE SEEN RUNNING AND WITH THEIR RIFLES AND PISTOLS DRAWN, SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE PUT IN HANDCUFFS AND DETAINED AT THAT POINT IN TIME. HOURS LATER, THOUGH, COVINGTON POLICE SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SUSPECTS DETAINED, COMMUNICATED OVER POLICE RADIO, A 911 CALLER TOLD POLICE DISPATCH HE SAW A SHOOTER DRIVE OFF. ANYBODY IN THE AREA OF WINSTON SPEEDWAY AND WINSTON GOT A WITNESS WHO SAW THE WHOLE THING. THE BLACK VEHICLE, OLDER CAR, FOUR DOOR WITH LOUD EXHAUST. THE DRIVER WAS THE SHOOTER, WHICH WAS A MALE WITH LONG BROWN HAIR, WEARING ALL BLACK WITH A HANDGUN. UNKNOWN CALLER. SO WEIRD. AGAIN, STILL AN ACT. IT WAS A VERY ACTIVE SCENE TODAY. THE LARGEST PRESENCE WAS HERE ON DECOURSEY AVENUE WITH THOSE OFFICERS RIGHT BEHIND ME.
