Both directions of Interstate 40 has been closed due to a vehicle crash east of Albuquerque.The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the crash involved one of its deputies. The office said the crash did involve a traffic stop on the interstate.The closure is near Tijeras, around mile marker 170. Multiple law enforcement agencies are on scene. Albuquerque police are closing eastbound traffic at Tramway Boulevard NE. That traffic is being diverted south onto Tramway to Central Avenue.Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
