A delicate balancing act is underway at Stamford Bridge regarding Alejandro Garnacho, as Chelsea reportedly weighs up the player’s potential against the need to protect a significant financial asset.

Alejandro Garnacho is another one of the Chelsea summer signings who has struggled so far this season.

No matter where the Argentine plays, he always seems to get some sort of stick, even if it’s not deserved at times. Although there are times when Garnacho criticism is deserved.

There have been times when Garnacho’s attitude has been called into question, especially when it comes to diving and the dark arts, rather than just keeping it simple.

This has led to the winger’s future coming under the spotlight.

Bobby Vincent provided an update on Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Chelsea (as per Football.London).

He stated that Chelsea has not decided on the future of Garnacho, but there could be a temptation from Chelsea’s point of view to pull the plug on Garnacho if he does not improve.

One of the main worries is potentially protecting the significant £40 million fee they paid.

The pressure is firmly on Garnacho with Chelsea looking at wingers like Yan Diomande ahead of the summer transfer window.

Alejandro Garnacho needs to prove himself on a consistent basis

Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Chelsea is currently hanging by a thread, with the 21-year-old facing an improve or move ultimatum. Despite a £40 million investment last summer, Garnacho has struggled to adapt to Liam Rosenior’s demands, recording just one Premier League goal this season.

His recent half-time substitution against West Ham and limited minutes in the Carabao Cup suggest a growing lack of trust from the coaching staff. With the imminent arrival of Geovany Quenda, the pathway for the Argentine is rapidly narrowing.

While Rosenior has publicly backed the winger’s potential, the reality is that Garnacho could be playing for his Stamford Bridge career over the final months of the season.
