EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Temperatures overnight will remain mild, only dropping into the upper 50s to around 60. Some patchy areas of fog will be possible, before lifting early Friday morning.
A warm front will be stationed to our north on Friday, putting us in a warm and moist environment. Gusty southwest winds will usher in potentially record warmth! Highs will top out in the upper 70s, with some locations over western Kentucky likely reaching 80! Expect partly cloudy skies on Friday before clouds increase Friday night ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will settle into the lower 60s overnight.
The cold front will finally pass through the Tri-State Saturday morning, bringing us another round of showers and storms. The SPC has placed the Tri-State in a level 1 Marginal risk for severe storms. If severe storms were to develop, the main hazard would be damaging winds and heavy rainfall. The bulk of the showers/storms will taper off from west to east Saturday afternoon. An isolated shower will be possible Saturday night before drying out completely by Sunday! Highs on Saturday will top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s ahead of the frontal passage before cooling into the mid-40s overnight. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies return on Sunday with highs reaching the lower 60s. Sunday is definitely the pick of the weekend!
We’ll remain mostly dry on Monday before another potentially strong low-pressure system kicks up more showers and storms Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will also shoot back up into the 70s during this timeframe.
