The Las Vegas Raiders have traded star pass rusher Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Raiders will receive a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick, and the trade cannot be processed until next week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced.

The Raiders stayed firm on their asking price of two first-rounders, and NFL insider Jordan Schultz added that the Dallas Cowboys also made a huge push to acquire Crosby, but the trade talks fell apart.

Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowler, is one of the greatest players to ever put on a Raiders uniform. In seven seasons with the team, including one in Oakland, Crosby racked up 439 total tackles, 69.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, and one interception.

Now, he finds a new home in Baltimore.

Raiders general manager John Spytek never ruled out trading Crosby, and Crosby never publicly acknowledged wanting a trade.

“I learned a long time ago, always listen,” Spytek said. “I’m always listening.”

However, both first-year head coach Klint Kubiak and owner Mark Davis made comments on wanting to keep Crosby in Las Vegas.

“We want him to be a part of our success going forward. There’s no doubt about that,” Kubiak said. “He’s one of the best players in the NFL, so that’s a no-brainer to get to work with Maxx and see him continue to have success with his organization.”

“Maxx has been a great, great Raider,” Davis added. “He is a great Raider. He’s gone through a lifetime of development here for seven or eight years, and he still is a Raider. So, it’s all good.”

At this point, it feels like it was best for both sides to have a fresh start, and that’s exactly what will happen.

What the Maxx Crosby Trade Means for Both Teams

The blockbuster move involving Maxx Crosby immediately shifts the outlook for both the Ravens and the Raiders heading into the upcoming season.

For Baltimore, acquiring Crosby signals an aggressive push to maximize the current championship window built around quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens have consistently fielded one of the league’s most physical defenses, and adding a relentless edge rusher like Crosby only strengthens that identity.

From the Raiders’ perspective, moving Crosby marks a significant turning point for the franchise. Since entering the league, Crosby has been the emotional leader of the defense and one of the team’s most recognizable players.

While losing a cornerstone player is never easy, the return package in draft capital or young talent could help Las Vegas reshape its roster for the future. The Raiders now gain flexibility to address multiple roster needs while resetting their defensive identity.

Ultimately, this trade represents two teams heading in different directions: the Ravens doubling down on a Super Bowl push, and the Raiders potentially focusing on building the next competitive core.
