Acworth Police say a man is dead after a shooting on Cowan Road off of I-75 around 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
ACWORTH, Ga. — Acworth Police says a man died after being shot early Saturday morning while breaking up a fight at a bar on Cowan Road off of I-75.
The manager at Saddle Bar says the man who died was not just a customer — he was part of the bar’s security team.
Cell phone video posted to Instagram shows what the atmosphere inside the bar looked like Friday night.
In the video, a band can be seen playing while people dance and enjoy the music.
But just before 2: 45 a.m. Saturday, the mood quickly changed.
“You want people to feel safe when they go out and everything like that, especially guys who are here to do a job and keep the energy what it should be and everything,” said Tyler Winters, a patron.
Winters was the drummer seen playing in the Instagram video. He said he had already gone home before the shooting happened.
“There was a good energy and things like that. No vibes of what was going to be happening later in the evening,” Winters said.
Investigators say they have arrested the suspected gunman, identified as Daniel Di Vonne Parsons.
Parsons is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and felony murder.
Authorities say the name of the man who died has not yet been released because next of kin have not been notified.
The bar had just opened within the last few weeks.
