Captain Aaron Judge launched a two-run home run in the top of the first, and the United States never looked back in a 15-5 win over Brazil on Friday night. Bryce Turang, batting ninth, finished 3-for-6 with four RBI as the Americans took advantage of 17 walks and put the game away with a seven-run outburst in the ninth inning. Logan Webb worked the first four innings, striking out six and allowing only a solo homer.

Great Britain found itself in a tight battle with Mexico on Friday before Mexico broke open a 1-1 game with three runs in the eighth inning and rolled to an 8-2 victory. Harry Ford of the Washington Nationals homered in the sixth inning to tie the game for the Brits, and Trayce Thompson had an RBI double. 

Two-time American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal gets the start on Saturday night for Team USA, while Great Britain gives the ball to 31-year-old right-hander Tyler Viza, who had a couple of cups of coffee with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2018-19 and pitched in the Mexican League last season.
