EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (11 March), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders’ Priya Nandra-Hart has made a desperate plea to Ravi Gulati, after the true extent of her partner’s mental health struggle was revealed. This week has seen Ravi go rogue and reveal to Mark Fowler that he is the police informant that he has been tasked with finding and killing.

Ravi goaded Mark into hurting him, but Phil, Vicki, Ross and Priya mercifully intervened before Mark could deliver a fatal blow. As Priya tended to Ravi’s wounds at home later, she was shocked to discover his self-harm scars that he had kept hidden until now.

Ravi put on a jovial front in today’s episode, pleased that he had “won” as Mark hadn’t killed him, but Priya was more concerned than ever about his mental state. The pair spun another lie to Avani and Nugget, keen to keep the truth from them.

With Priya unable to get through to Ravi, she called round to see Jack. She told him that she knows everything about Ravi’s informant work and filled him in on the dramatic situation from the previous day.

Jack raged that Ravi had revealed his secret and while he conceded that Ravi had given them valuable intel, he reckoned that the whole family needed to be put in witness protection as a result.

To stop this, Priya confronted Vicki about Mark, and Vicki promised her that Ravi was safe and Mark won’t hurt him. However, Mark later told Ross that he had been given 24 hours to kill the grass to protect Vicki – and he will do anything to save his sister.

Priya later got the good news from Jack that Ravi was officially out of the operation. But when she told her partner, he was humiliated that he had been taken out because of his mental health issues.

A huge row broke out, as Ravi exclaimed that he wanted to stay in control of his life and didn’t need help from anyone.

Priya continued to reach out to Ravi, but as he kept refusing to see a therapist, she snapped and said: “You’re supposed to be strong, be a man! Not hurting yourself when it all gets a bit much.”

Later, Priya was forced to admit to Nugget and Avani that their dad was struggling mentally at the moment, but Ravi didn’t want them to know about it.

Returning home, Priya apologised to Ravi, who finally opened up and admitted that he feels he has no purpose and doesn’t belong in the family. In a devastating final scene, Priya pleaded with him to make an urgent appointment with the doctor, and Ravi broke down in tears.

Will this mark the start of the road to recovery for Ravi?
