Oga’s Cantina is back open after a two-month closure. The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge bar at Disneyland closed in January for a refurbishment related to the land’s timeline shift.

Oga’s Cantina Reopens

Half of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including Oga’s Cantina, will soon be set during the original Star Wars trilogy. The half with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is still set during the sequels. The timeline shift officially goes into effect on April 29, but Disney said guests might see updates before then.

According to the updated backstory for Oga’s Cantina, it’s still owned by Oga, just earlier in her career.

In the era of the Galactic Civil War, proprietor Oga Garra only recently opened this watering hole, which is already becoming a popular spot for intergalactic travelers.

Oga Garra is an “elusive” Blutopian. In the former story, she was a crime boss, but the bar is now set before she rose through the criminal ranks of Batuu.

DJ R-3X continues to spin tunes. The droid is a former Star Tours pilot, RX-24, who was said to have crash-landed on Batuu. He was reprogrammed by Mubo of Droid Depot to be DJ R-3X — although this was said to have been “recent” in the former story. Now that Oga’s Cantina is set nearly 40 years earlier, it seems Disney is working with a loose concept of what is “recent.”

The refurbishment reportedly included drainage updates.

The timeline change is only for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, not at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
