CROSBY, Texas (KTRK) — A woman was found dead after a shooting was reported in the Crosby area on Sunday morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said they responded to a shooting in progress call in the 3000 block of Kennings near Bohemian Hall Road at 4:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, authorities said they found a 26-year-old woman dead with gunshot wounds.

Officers said the owner of the home called 911 and told them someone came into his house, attacked him, and shot his girlfriend. Deputies said the man did not give descriptions of the attacker(s).

HCSO said the woman, who had been staying in the home for the past three weeks, was shot multiple times.

Detectives said they planned to interview the man on Sunday morning.

No suspect is in custody, deputies said, but the investigation is ongoing.
