The NFL free agency period brought a wave of lucrative new contracts and several notable trades.

The Indianapolis Colts were among the teams making significant moves. After agreeing to terms with quarterback Daniel Jones, the team made Anthony Richardson Sr. available for trade.

Richardson, the former top-five pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has already drawn interest from several teams. However, one team has quickly emerged as a potential landing spot.

According to ESPN, the Green Bay Packers have developed strong interest in Richardson. A move to Green Bay could fill the Packers’ need for a backup behind Jordan Love while also giving Richardson an opportunity to reset his career.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has built a strong track record with quarterbacks. He helped develop Love and also turned Malik Willis into a quarterback who earned a significant payday this year.

Richardson remains an extremely raw talent. He entered the NFL with limited starting experience in college and always projected as a long-term developmental project.

Few coaches may be better suited to take on that challenge than LaFleur. After acquiring Willis from the Tennessee Titans, LaFleur helped turn him into a more than serviceable option.

Now, he could take on another AFC South quarterback project. Reports have already indicated that Richardson has interest in developing behind an established starter.
