Coronation Street sets Megan Walsh’s downfall in motion tonight, as she’s finally arrested for grooming Will Driscoll. But is there still a chance that she could worm her way out of trouble?
In an emotional episode, Eva Price, Leanne Battersby and Toyah Battersby continue their mission to bring Megan to justice after Sam Blakeman’s recent revelations.
Eva breaks the news to her partner Ben that Megan has been grooming his teenage son for months. However, when Ben questions Will, he sticks to a pre-prepared cover story – claiming that he had a one-sided crush and Megan rejected him.

Will and Megan make panicked plans to flee Weatherfield together, but they’re stopped in their tracks after Ben, Eva, Leanne and Toyah unite to report Megan to the police.
Kit Green turns up at Weatherfield High to arrest Megan on suspicion of child grooming – to the horror of her boyfriend Daniel Osbourne, who jumps to her defence.
As the dust settles, though, is there enough evidence to prove Megan’s guilt? Or could she end up walking free as it’s her word against Sam’s?
Speaking recently about the future of this plot, Jane Danson – who plays Leanne – told Inside Soap: “This storyline involves so many characters who all react differently. Lots of other stories are born out of it. It will affect lots of relationships.

“Eva is protective of her stepson Will, she and Leanne are united in looking out for their kids, and Toyah’s a big part of that. It’s the three sisters against the world!”
On Sam’s involvement in the plot, she added: “I watched Alex [Bain, who played Simon] grow into a young man and have some amazing stories. Now Jude [Riordan, who portrays Sam] is in his last years of high school and going into his GCSEs. It’s like watching your own children grow up!
“Jude is handling this storyline really well, he’s amazing. Sam is a lovely, moral, honest character, like a mini Roy Cropper!”
Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
