FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WAFF) – The Fort Payne City Council voted Tuesday to approve a tax incentive plan connected to an expansion at PHŌS Window in Fort Payne.
City leaders say the plan is designed to generate sales tax revenue, including revenue tied to new machinery and equipment being built for the expanded operation.
The company’s current facility is about 40,000 square feet, with plans to add an additional 90,000 square feet. The expansion is expected to add an estimated 90 to 110 jobs in the area.
Construction is planned to begin April 1 and is expected to take about nine months, with the company hoping the new facility will be ready after Christmas.
The project is planned at the company’s facility at 1201 Echols Dr W.
Company leaders told the council they’ve enjoyed working in Fort Payne and are excited to keep building on what they’ve accomplished under new management, adding they like the commute and are originally from Tennessee.
