A determined Julia Starodubtseva pushed a top seed but lost in a 90-minute battle, exiting Miami while fellow Ukrainians remain in the draw.
The WTA 1000 tournament in Miami is underway, with a prize pool of about $9.5 million.
Yulia Starodubtseva, ranked 108th in the WTA, in a 1 hour 30-minute match to reach the fourth round, lost to world No. 6 – American Amanda Anisimova – 4-6, 2-6, according to the Ukrainian Tennis Federation.
Starodubtseva is participating in Miami for the second time: last year the Ukrainian qualified and lost in the first round of the main draw.

In the Miami Open main draw, Ukrainians Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, and Lyudmyla Kichenok (in doubles) continue to compete.
The Florida-based tournament will run through March 29.
