Nintendo has continued to improve Switch game compatibility on the Switch 2 and it’s reportedly rolled out a new batch of fixes.
This latest round of backward compatibility fixes apparently includes heavy-hitters such as Kirby, Final Fantasy and DOOM (which got a fix last month). Here’s the full list via Nintendo Everything.
Compatibility fixes
You can find out more about compatibility fixes on Nintendo’s official compatibility search page. Nintendo has also reportedly identified progression issues with the following titles (including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed), so hopefully there will be a fix for these titles in the near future.

And to add to this, Nintendo has listed a few games that work but encounter issues when they’re played:
This follows the Switch 2 and Switch 22.0.0 update earlier this week, which added “handheld boost mode” on the Switch 2. You can find out more about the latest update in our previous posts:

I’m glad KRtDL DX is fixed, as I want to get to that sometime. Handheld boost is bound to like nice with it.
Didn’t even know Kirby and FFXII had issues. Cheers for the fixes.
The last big game for me to get a fix is South Park Fractured but Whole. Hopeful one day it gets one
So does anyone know why the Tomb Raider I-II-III remastered collection isn’t getting the free NS2 upgrade for owners in the PAL regions, but it is in the US and Japan?
Yayyy Doom 2016! Excited to try that one with the new handheld boost mode
@Chimichanga We don’t seem to be able to get that upgrade here in the US either. At least not physical owners.
Please Fix Tales of Symphonia and A Hat in Time.
They both crash and have multiple problems.
@GoldenSunRM A Hat in Time was listed as having fixes, or do you mean it hasn’t improved?
@molkom I must have missed that somehow, even tough is the first on the list, my bad.
Last time I played it would always crash at the entrance of world 3, it couldn’t be finished at all.
I’ll check later if it works.
for games like Doom we don’t need fixes, we need an update from a developer
Astebreed has also finally been fixed and this time for good! It was listed way back as working but in reality it wasn’t. Now it doesn’t glitch anymore on Stages 5 and 6 (it was severe and unplayable) and it looks and plays absolutely AMAZING with Handheld Boost Mode activated!
This is why I didnt buy a switch 2 at launch and still in no rush for one now. Also is it really a switch 2? Feels more of a switch pro.
Just wanted to start Limbo, didn’t know there were issues so I lucked out in being late! 😂
meanwhile I’m still waiting for Strania and Raiden III and IV to be fixed
Sadly still nothing for Kingdoms of Amular Rereckoning which still has broken graphics.
