Still just 24 years old, the star receiver is the entire package. Excellent route-running ability allows JSN to break free of any coverage. Sam Darnold looked his way so often in 2025 because the wideout is seemingly always open. Adding to his technical skill, JSN owns sticky hands and the smarts to know the soft spots in every defense. He rarely, if ever, runs himself into trouble.
Smith-Njigba is a matchup nightmare for defense. His ability to dominate out wide, in the slot, or even run routes from the backfield makes it extremely difficult for defenses to match up with him every down. That’s a weapon that’s hard to take away.
The Seahawks recently picked up JSN’s fifth-year option, worth roughly $23.852 million, with designs on locking him down long-term. Mission accomplished. Next for Seattle is inking cornerback Devon Witherspoon for the long haul.
Smith-Njigba resetting the top of the receiver market could impact division rival Los Angeles, whose star wideout Puka Nacua is entering the final year of his contract and up for an extension this offseason.
