The Los Angeles Dodgers’ home opener is only days away, and two fans are preparing to experience Dodger Stadium from the comfort of their own home.
Rob and Kate Banks live so close to the stadium that they can hear the roars and screams before they play out on TV.
“You can feel the energy, hear the organ (and) see the fireworks in the backyard,” Rob Banks said. “It’s an energy that feels really special.”
The couple owns one of the few homes that can see inside the stadium and can walk there in five minutes.
They’ll cook food at home and avoid the hassle of parking before heading over for games.
“It’s like Margaritaville,” Rob Banks said. “It’s really easy, and getting out of the game is perfect.”
Banks said his favorite Dodger memory is from the longest World Series game in 2018, when he watched Max Muncy hit a walk-off home run against the Boston Red Sox.
He’s hopeful the Dodgers will be able to repeat their success from the last two seasons.
“It’s going to be an incredible year,” Banks said. “I think it’s a three-peat for sure.”
The Dodgers’ season opener is against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 5 p.m. Thursday.
