Our next chance of rain is on the horizon but not before another record-breaking heat wave. See the latest conditions at KOB.com/Weather.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An upper-level heat high pressure system that gave us five straight days of record-breaking heat is back again before a cooldown.
It starts Tuesday and goes through Thursday with temperatures in the upper-80s and lower-90s likely each day.
By Friday, however, temperatures will likely be in the 70s for many of us in New Mexico. As the heat high works its way further south and east, the rotation could bring some rain Saturday through even Monday.
Before then, fire weather watches are going to be in effect for the warm, breezy and dry day expected Thursday.
