Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was back on the hardwood on Sunday. This time around, however, she swapped a basketball for a microphone as NBC’s special guest broadcaster for an NBA game.
Clark provided pregame analysis for Sunday’s matchup between the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center. This is the second NBC broadcast for Clark, who also took part in the pregame show in January during a Knicks-Lakers matchup at Madison Square Garden.

As Clark shared her insights on the game, the 24-year-old also took the opportunity to address the tremendous impact she’s had on women’s sports.

Clark has been busy in the offseason. She recently made her senior debut for Team USA in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after leading the national squad to a 5-0 record.
On Sunday, Clark spoke openly about how much she’s changed not only women’s basketball, but women’s sports in general.

“This was never my goal to change women’s sports,” she admitted. “I just showed up and I played and I loved every single second of it.
“I feel a responsibility to show up and put a smile on everybody’s face that buys a ticket.”
Clark’s personal admission says a lot. According to the Fever star, it has never been her intention to be a trailblazer. However, she’s doing everything she can to live up to the lofty expectations now that she’s established herself as one of the top women’s athletes in the world.

During her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes in college, Clark set the all-time NCAA Division I scoring record for both the women’s and men’s categories. She has also set a myriad of awe-inspiring records in her two seasons in the WNBA. Viewership has also increased significantly since she entered the league.
Now that she’s back to full strength, Clark is looking to take things to a whole new level in Year 3.
