Caitlin Clark has already admitted she’s a huge fan of Azzi Fudd and is expecting her to thrive when she gets to the WNBA next season.
Fudd is hoping to lead UConn to their second straight National Championship after they defeated Notre Dame to advance to the Final Four. The point guard is expected to be one of the first three players selected in the 2026 WNBA Draft, potentially following in the footsteps of her girlfriend in joining Paige Bueckers at the Dallas Wings.
Fudd has had a dominant final year in college, with Clark stating she’s enjoyed watching the star point guard – seeing her career unfold after having struggles with injuries.

Speaking about Fudd last year, Clark said: “I just admire her and her resiliency. The things that she has been through, it’s pretty incredible now seeing her success… how can you not be a fan of her and root for her?
“But also, she has probably one of the best shots I’ve ever seen. Like, it’s just so pure and so pretty. I know she’s not coming out this year, but next year she’s gonna be pretty high in my draft board.
“I just think she’s one of those pieces that will come into the WNBA and be able to translate right away, space the floor. She just makes shots, she’s always poised. She just does everything really well.”

Fudd could have entered the WNBA Draft alongside Bueckers, but chose to come back to the school for one more season – where she has established herself as the go-to player.
She has averaged 17.7 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds throughout the season while shooting 49% from the field.
Clark was selected with the first overall pick in 2024 before Bueckers went number one in 2025, to the Wings. The Wings hold the number one overall pick and could reunited Bueckers and Fudd.

It’s a strong class though, with Flau’jae Johnson, Olivia Miles, Awa Fam and Lauren Betts all competing to be the first overall pick.
Another championship with UConn could see the Wings move to bring in Fudd, who has the capabilities of a scorer alongside Bueckers being the distributor in the offense.
