Late last month ESPN announced former NFL star Jason Kelce would dip his toes into the world of golf with a special guest appearance for three TGL matches.

His performance across those matches appears to have gone well enough for ESPN to extend his stay in the golf world. On Tuesday, March 31, ESPN revealed he’s heading to Augusta National Golf Club to be part of the network’s coverage of the Masters.

“Coverage of the beloved Masters Par 3 Contest begins Wednesday at noon, with two exclusive hours on the ESPN App and Disney+, followed by two additional hours on ESPN at 2 p.m., hosted by SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt with Smith and ESPN NFL analyst Jason Kelce conducting interviews with players and their families,” ESPN said in a statement on Tuesday morning.

While Kelce is beloved in many spaces, golf fans might be getting some Kelce fatigue because the reaction to ESPN’s announcement was less than positive.

“Oh good, was worried we wouldn’t get enough forced Kelce content this year,” one fan said sarcastically before another added, “SHRINK THE GAME.”

“Not Bert Kreischer but we’re getting there folks,” joked another before a fourth suggested, “Oh they’re trying to ruin the masters too.”

Kelce brings energy to every environment he’s in, but clearly the golf community isn’t ready for that just yet.

ESPN will have special programming for the Masters started on Monday, but the tournament doesn’t officially tee off until April 9.
