What you need to know for Wednesday’s games
The NBA moves into April with nine games on the schedule, including three where both teams are still vying for playoff positioning.
The Atlanta Hawks travel to Orlando to face the Magic with both teams fresh off big wins, though one team has performed much better than the other of late. The Hawks have won 16 of their last 18 games, including Monday’s win over the Boston Celtics, to move up to fifth place in the East. The Magic, meanwhile, are home underdogs in this game after losing seven of their last nine to fall to eighth in the East.

In Miami, the Heat and Celtics will face off with recent histories that are bizarro images of one another. The Celtics lost their most recent game, but have won seven of their last 10 overall and hold the second seed in the East. The Heat, meanwhile, won their most recent game but have lost seven of their last 10 overall to fall to the second-to-last postseason seed in the East.
Out West, the Golden State Warriors play host to the scorching San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have won 14 of their last 15 games and enter April as the hottest team in the league, while the Warriors continue to scrap despite all of their injuries. Despite the continued absence of Stephen Curry, the Warriors have won three of their last four games and have guaranteed themselves a spot in the play-in tournament.
These and many other storylines will be in play for this first day of April. As always, let’s dig deeper to identify fantasy streamers, betting angles and DFS plays of interest to help you avoid any April Fools’ Day shenanigans.
Wednesday’s fantasy stream team
Kyle Filipowski, PF/C, Utah Jazz (rostered in 46.9% of ESPN leagues): Filipowski is an every-game fantasy starter down the stretch for the rebuilding Jazz. He has scored 20 or more points in three straight games with averages of 23.7 PPG, 9.0 RPG and 4.3 APG over that stretch.
Kyle Kuzma, PF, Milwaukee Bucks (21.5% rostered): Kuzma returned Tuesday from a four-game absence (Achilles). He dropped 20 points in both the game before his injury and the game he returned. If he plays tonight on the second half of a back-to-back, he should remain a leading scoring option for the Bucks.
Tre Jones, PG, Chicago Bulls (47.8% rostered): Jones has scored 15 or more points in six straight games, averaging a robust 18.8 PPG, 5.7 APG, 5.2 RPG and 1.3 SPG during that span.

Dré’s favorite bets for Wednesday
Hawks -4.5 (-105) over Magic
The Magic bounced back from their 50-point loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday to get a win last night over the Phoenix Suns. But they are still 2-7 in their last nine games, while the Hawks have won 16 of their last 18 games, with 15 of those 16 wins by at least nine points. Included in the recent records of both teams is a Hawks 12-point win over the Magic a couple weeks ago.
Celtics -4.5 (-118) over Heat
The Celtics have played without at least one of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum or Derrick White in each of their last three games. But none of the three are on the injury report today, which means they should all be out there against the Heat. The last time all three played together, the Celtics beat the Oklahoma City Thunder by 10 points and solidified themselves with the second-shortest odds to win the championship, according to DraftKings. The Heat, meanwhile, have lost seven of their last nine games, with five of those seven losses by double figures.
Victor Wembanyama OVER 11.5 rebounds (-131)
Wembanyama is on his MVP kick to finish the season and is putting up video game numbers on a daily basis. One area he’s been particularly dominant of late has been on the glass, where he has at least 15 rebounds in four straight games. His opponents tonight, the Warriors, allow the second-most rebounds in the NBA to opposing centers.

Joel Embiid, C, 76ers ($9,600): Embiid is also back for the 76ers and consistently producing around or above his 45.1 FP/G season average. His opponents tonight rank 30th in production allowed to opposing centers.
$6,100-$8,000 salaries
Reed Sheppard, SG, Houston Rockets ($6,500): Sheppard has produced more than 35 fantasy points in four of his last six games and has the chance to put another big number on the board against a weak Bucks defense that ranks 28th in production to opposing guards.

Tre Jones, PG, Bulls ($5,900): Jones is putting up starting fantasy numbers on a daily basis, and he has a great matchup against the Pacers.
Jakob Poeltl, C, Raptors ($5,700): Poeltl is a walking double-double, and tonight he faces a Sacramento Kings squad that ranks 28th in fantasy points allowed to opposing centers.
