Since BlueCo acquired Chelsea in May 2022, the club has brought in 48 players on permanent deals. Across four summers, the Blues have averaged 12 permanent arrivals per transfer window.

As the 2026 summer window approaches, many anticipate that Chelsea chiefs will once again be extremely active. A glance at the current squad suggests a compelling case can be made that every outfield position needs strengthening.

Ever since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital purchased the Blues nearly four years ago, the club has operated under a particular model. Part of that approach involves identifying promising young talent from across the globe and securing agreements as early as possible, even if it means Chelsea must wait before the player officially becomes theirs.

Estevao Willian is a clear example of this model. Chelsea have four players scheduled to join the club during the upcoming summer transfer window after agreeing deals with their respective clubs.

Chelsea have pre-arranged transfers for Geovany Quenda (Sporting CP), Dastan Satpayev (FC Kairat), Denner Evangelista (Corinthians) and Emanuel Emegha (Strasbourg). All four stars are due to arrive this summer.

Where they’ll ply their trade next season is yet to be determined. In Quenda’s case, he’s expected to feature in Chelsea’s first-team plans next term, as per Football London.

It is likely that Emegha will be part of the squad too and compete with the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap for the striker’s role at Stamford Bridge.

Mike Penders is presently on loan at Strasbourg and Chelsea are set to evaluate his circumstances in the summer.

The young Belgian shotstopper has caught the eye in France and given the doubts surrounding Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen at the time of writing, it’s set to be a position the club examines due to their lofty ambitions for Penders.
