Jack Roslovic still hasn’t made a decision on where he’ll play. Also, the last arbitration case remaining ended with a new contract, and the August Avalanche Mailbag is here!

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — August 3.

Colorado Hockey Now

The slowest calendar month of the year has begun and that means another Avalanche Mailbag is on the way. I’m accepting Avs-related questions per usual. But also, if anything non Avs or even non-Hockey related is on your mind, send them my way. Use the comments second in the Mailbag story below to submit your questions by noon on Monday.

Also, here’s my story from Friday on the curious decision by Hockey Canada to only invite three goalies to the late-August orientation camp.

Around The NHL

Roslovic Undecided: Probably the biggest free agent name remaining, Roslovic has still not made a decision on where he’ll play despite having offers on the table. Elliotte Friedman said Sunday on the 32 Thoughts Podcast that he believes five or six teams are still in on the 28-year-old forward. Friedman noted that Roslovic likely hasn’t found an offer that’s enticing enough to sign yet, and that the Leafs might be one of the teams trying to move money around to bring Roslovic in. We’ll see how this plays out in the coming weeks.

Nick Robertson Signs: Speaking of the Leafs, Nick Robertson signed a one-year, $1.825 million deal before his arbitration hearing. He was the last remaining arbitration case, which puts an end to that portion of the offseason. I wonder if the trade market starts to see some movement now that this part is all set. Robertson’s new deal is part of the reason why Toronto wants to move money around. They’ve got a surplus of bottom six forwards currently under contract.

Detroit Hockey Now: It looks like a former Red Wings forward is heading to Sweden for the upcoming season.

San Jose Hockey Now: Here’s a fun exercise: One micro-stat on each new Sharks player that could help the team.

Florida Hockey Now: Is it time for the Panthers, who have been around for more than 30 years, to start honoring their past with some sort of Ring of Honor?
