BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – Nurses and the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital have reached a tentative agreement to avoid a strike.
The president of the Brattleboro Federation of Nurses confirmed the agreement to WCAX News on Friday.
Details of the new contract were not immediately available. Wages, health insurance and paid time off were sticking points in negotiations.
The unionized nurses voted last week to authorize a strike if a deal could not be reached. They kept delivering care as contract negotiations continued. They had set a Thursday deadline for the hospital to bring a new proposal to the table.
The Brattleboro Federation of Nurses has 155 members.
