There’s no denying that Sam Hauser is one of the best sharpshooters in the NBA. The Boston Celtics forward has also proven himself to be a reliable defender, while also adding an off-the-dribble game to his offensive repertoire. Yet, since the 2025 offseason, Hauser has consistently been discussed as a player the Celtics could look to move in a potential trade.

Recently, Bleacher Report cited the championship-winning sharpshooter as Boston’s most likely candidate to hit the trade market this summer. Part of the reason for Hauser’s name being floated in trade hypotheses is that he’s on a tradeable $45 million contract. Of course, his hot and cold shooting streaks throughout the current season haven’t helped his cause, either.

During a recent episode of “The Celtics Chronicle” podcast, Adam Taylor and Mike Weber discussed Hauser’s value to the Celtics and how the development of Baylor Scheierman, Hugo Gonzalez and Jordan Walsh could seal his fate, one way or the other. They also shared their thoughts regarding Hauser’s immediate future with the team, and whether he will still be on the roster to begin the 2026-27 campaign.
