Caitlin Clark is getting set for her third WNBA season with the Indiana Fever in 2026, hoping to have a healthier year than in 2025. Last season, the former Iowa Hawkeyes guard was only able to play in 13 games due to numerous injuries, missing a majority of the regular season and the entire playoffs, when Indiana advanced to Game 5 of the semifinals.

But before the new WNBA season begins, Indianapolis hosted the men’s Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. The first game featured the No. 2 seed UConn Huskies against in-state No. 3 seed Illinois, with the Fighting Illini sent packing. The second matchup on Saturday night pitted two No. 1 seeds, the Arizona Wildcats and Michigan Wolverines. And Clark, who lives in the area, attended both games, sitting in a suite alongside a basketball legend.

Magic Johnson became one of the greatest players in NBA history during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Hall of Fame point guard helped lead Los Angeles to five NBA championships in the 1980s while also winning three MVP awards. Johnson also won a gold medal with Team USA at the 1992 Barcelona Games as part of the famed “Dream Team.”

Since retiring from the NBA, Johnson has become a prominent businessman. He owns numerous investments and financial ventures and is also a minority owner of several professional sports teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Sparks. Johnson also starred in a Capital One March Madness commercial alongside Clark this year.

During the Final Four in Indianapolis, Johnson joined TNT Sports to discuss the games. He also revealed that he and Clark had been watching the action together in a suite. And during the Arizona vs. Michigan matchup, Johnson shared a photo of himself with Clark on social media, providing proof of the moment.

“Another Final Four in the books!” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Hanging out in the Capital One suite with WNBA superstar and celebrity Caitlin Clark, Capital One bank guy Jeremy Brandt, actor Will Forte aka James Naismith, and Capital One CBO Marc Mentry. I always have a great time on set with all my friends Coach Bruce Pearl, Clark Kellogg, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and my fellow Dream Team teammate and hall of famer Charles Barkley! It was great to see my friend and Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark and his son Drake as well!”

Clark and the Fever will open the 2026 WNBA season on May 9, facing Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
