DIMONDALE, Mich. (WILX) – Untreated sewage is flowing into the Grand River to prevent backups into homes after heavy rains Saturday morning as water pumps struggle to clear flooding.
The Village of Dimondale issued a notice through Facebook Saturday warning residents to avoid contact with the Grand River for the next couple of days.
This is a temporary measure until the system inflow stabilizes and pumps can function normally.
Officials also ask residents to reduce water usage to help relieve pressure on the system.
