Scottie Scheffler has even more to celebrate heading into the Masters. Just days after withdrawing from the Houston Open to be with his wife Meredith ahead of the birth of their first child, Scheffler revealed that the couple has welcomed a baby boy.
It is a huge personal moment for the world No. 1, who now heads to Augusta with a growing family and plenty of momentum, making an already exciting Masters week feel even bigger.

The news was confirmed on X by Doug Ferguson who said, “Another boy for the Schefflers (Remy). The little fella is 9 days old and already at the Masters.”
The world No. 1 and his wife Meredith have welcomed their second son, Remy, giving Scheffler a major personal win just before heading to Augusta.
The couple had kept things pretty quiet, although fans had started to suspect they were expecting again after Meredith was seen at tournaments earlier this year. With Bennett already part of the family, the Schefflers now have two future golf partners at home.

Scottie Scheffler Joins Other Big Names With the Aim to Dethrone Rory McIlroy
There is no shortage of intrigue heading into Augusta this year because it honestly feels like half the field has a believable path to winning. Rory McIlroy will get most of the attention after finally winning the Masters last year and completing the career Grand Slam. The pressure that followed him around for more than a decade is finally gone, and now everyone wants to see if he can play freer and make another run.
Scottie Scheffler is still the top-ranked player in the world, but for once he does not feel unbeatable. He already has a win this season, yet there is still a sense that he has not completely hit top gear. Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are right there too. Bryson has been playing some of his best golf in a while, and Rahm has quietly been piling up top finishes almost every time he tees it up.

Then there are the feel-good stories. Gary Woodland coming back after brain surgery and PTSD has people rooting for him everywhere he goes. Justin Rose is still trying to finally get over the line at Augusta. Add in younger names like Cameron Young and Chris Gotterup, and this year’s Masters feels a lot less predictable than usual.
