MACOMB (WGEM) – The Macomb Public Works Department have announced the water main breaks are fixed and have lifted the water usage advisory. City officials thank residents for their patience during the repairs.
Saturday, city officials said residents and businesses were asked to immediately limit using non-essential water as the breaks are impacting the local water supply.
City officials said at that time, there was no boil order in effect and conserving the water would help prevent them from issuing a system wide boil order.
City officials said they were working to locate and repair the breaks.
They recommended residents take the following actions:
Postpone laundry, dishwashing, and other high-water-use activitiesTurn off irrigation systems and avoid outdoor wateringTake shorter showers and reduce faucet use where possibleReport visible leaks or breaks to [phone number or contact info]
“We understand this is an inconvenience, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation,” said Alice Ohrtmann, Public Works Director. “Our top priority is restoring full service as quickly and safely as possible.”
They said they will provide updates on the city’s website and their Facebook page.
