The “Dave Matthews Band” didn’t make it through a song Saturday at Montana’s Big Sky Arena when a couple of unruly fans drew the attention of the iconic rock group’s lead singer.
Dave Matthews, who was performing an acoustic set of the band’s “Pig,” stopped to address what appeared to be two men fighting.
“Hey, dudes, stop,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said from the stage. “Hey, you guys, what are you doing, man? What are you, out of your minds? Good Lord, if you want to do that, go outside. Don’t do it in the crowd.”
Matthews, 58, even asked for some assistance.
“Got some idiots fighting over here… Go do that somewhere else, man,” he said firmly.
“I don’t want to play another note while you guys are there; I don’t care what he’s talking about. I don’t want to play one note if you guys are in here. Not one note.”
The video of the incident went viral, of course.
