The WTA Stuttgart tournament is the bigger of the two WTA events this week. The smaller event is in Rouen, but the stars come to Germany to test their game before heading to Madrid for the two-week 1,000-point tournament everyone cares about. We are likely to see some high-profile matchups later in the week in Stuttgart, but the first round has its own interesting schedule. Let’s look at the lighter Monday card, and I included one Tuesday match as well.
WTA Stuttgart
Siegemund–Tomova: Time 18:30
H2H: 0-1
Laura Siegemund faces Viktoriya Tomova. These two players enter the match from different vantage points. Siegemund hasn’t played since Miami, so she has had over three weeks off. Tomova played the qualifying rounds in Stuttgart and lost to Alycia Parks but got into the tournament as a lucky loser. One player might be rusty while the other simply isn’t playing that well to begin with.Â
Best Bet to Make
Siegemund is roughly 100 ranking spots higher than Tomova. Siegemund, a German, will be playing in front of a raucous home crowd. Tomova is not playing well at all. Worries about Siegemund being rusty or ineffective just don’t seem warranted, and the return on a Siegemund win is pretty good.
That being said, Siegemund winning is a value bet for sure.

Ruzic – Samsonova: Time 20:00
H2H: 0-0
Antonia Ruzic faces Liudmila Samsonova. Ruzic has worked her way into the top 60. A run to the third round of Indian Wells pushed her there. It will be intriguing to see how much higher in the World rankings she can rise in the 2026 season. Liudmila Samsonova is struggling. That much should be evident. As the No. 3 seed in Linz, she lost early in the tournament to Lilli Tagger in straight sets. She lost all eight set points she had in the second set. She is not confident in big moments right now.

Best Bet to Make
We’re gonna rely on a bit of history here. Ruzic might not win, but she should certainly keep the match close. Samsonova is struggling to win matches, any matches, so it seems more likely than not that Ruzic will win at least one set. Yet, you don’t have to bet on Ruzic winning the match outright; just winning one set still brings home a reasonable price.Â
That being said, Ruzic +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Mertens– Seidel: 01:00
H2H: 0-0
Elise Mertens drew Ella Seidel. Mertens, a top-25 player, goes up against Seidel, who is outside the top 80. Mertens isn’t playing great tennis, but she is losing to good players. Her two most recent losses are to Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea and Belinda Bencic. There’s no shame in losing to quality opponents. Seidel is struggling, having lost five of her last seven matches. She is looking for a spark to reignite her 2026 season. She was a reliable betting partner in 2025, can she get back to that?
Best Bet to Make
The poor form of Seidel makes it easy to bet on Mertens in some form in this match. The best way to get a return is the game spread. Mertens winning 2:0 won’t give you a great price. The game spread bet will offer a decent return on a winning ticket. If Mertens can bring home a 6-3, 6-3 win or anything more decisive than that, you could win and get a solid price for it. Mertens ought to win this thing pretty comfortably, so I recommend her -5.5 games at 1.85 on several sites.Â
That being said, Mertens -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.
